Mauricio Pochettino could not pretend Sunday s Classique victory bore any resemblance to the matches he played in with Paris Saint-Germain due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Head coach Pochettino took PSG to Marseille for the first time since his return to the club.
It was a triumphant outing for the former Tottenham manager, who oversaw a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi.
Mbappe said afterwards the fixture had regained importance this season, with Marseille having won at PSG early in the season in a game that saw five red cards.
There was only a single dismissal this time – Dimitri Payet sent off late on – but Icardi described the success as revenge .
For Pochettino, though, who was not involved in the reverse fixture…
It may seem like a distant era but there was a time when Juventus did not win Serie A.
Massimiliano Allegri has continued the Turin dynasty started by Antonio Conte but long before he moved to Allianz Stadium, he was the mastermind behind the last team other than Juve to claim the Scudetto.
With Rafael Benitez enduring a stuttering start to his time at Inter, who had won the treble the previous season, and Juve still reeling following the Calciopoli scandal, the stage was set for AC Milan.
With a host of star names and a mixture of experience and youth, the Rossoneri ran out worthy winners, sealing the title with a 1-0 win over Brescia on April 23, 2011.
So who were the last team to stop Juventus from winning Serie A? Omnisport takes a look at t…
Last night was a busy one in the Premier League with eight games taking place. Manchester United remained top of the Premier League table, courtesy of a 1-0 victory over West Ham at Old Trafford.
The home side took the lead after just 33 seconds.
Striker Robin van Persie’s effort took a deflection off James Collins, before beating Jussi Jaaskelainen in the Hammers goal. The game petered out after that effort.
The home side dominated possession without looking like they had any cutting edge. The away side offered little going forward and their only real threat came from set-pieces. The victory leaves United a point clear of arch-rivals Manchester City at the top of the table.
The champions also claimed victory, defeating Wigan 2-0 at the DW Stadium. The…
Manchester City have done the job, just about.
Their remarkable 3-2 comeback victory over Aston Villa on Sunday ensured that the Premier League title is theirs for a fourth time in five seasons, ending Liverpool s hopes of a remarkable quadruple in the process.
While Liverpool will now turn their full focus to the Champions League final as they look to secure a third trophy of the campaign, Pep Guardiola will look to build on his side s domestic dominance heading into next season.
Erling Haaland s impending arrival is a strong start to doing just that, and City will have another go at the Champions League next term too with the Norway forward leading their line – the issue of playing without a proper number nine finally put to bed.
Had Guardiola and …
I live for betting Week 2 of the NFL schedule.
We’re still early enough into the season where the playing field between books and bettors is fairly level and, thanks to a football-starved fanbase, the opening results are blown way out of proportion. That can open up opportunities to counter those knee-jerk reactions.
For example, NFL underdogs went a blazing 12-4 ATS overall in Week 1.
You would assume a guy who writes a weekly column giving his best NFL betting picks solely on teams getting the points would be ecstatic. However, many of my favorite Week 2 bets are teams giving the points. That made figuring out my top NFL underdogs picks for Week 2 a little tricky.
Luckily, overreaction from openers is leading the way like a fullback smack…
The NFL playoffs went to the dogs last year, with postseason pups posting an 8-5 against-the-spread mark – capped by Tampa Bay’s victory as a 3-point underdog in Super Bowl LV.
In fact, going back to 2017-18, postseason point spread underdogs are 29-17 ATS overall, covering in 63% of those tournament tilts. And the Wild Card Round has been the bigger purveyor of potent playoff pups, with NFL underdogs going 15-3 ATS the past four postseasons.
Will this trend continue or is this Wild Card run for dogs due for regression? Only one way to find out.
These are my favorite NFL Wild Card picks and predictions for those teams getting the points this weekend.

NFL futures odds didn’t shift a whole lot after Week 17 but the Kansas City Chiefs did see their Super Bowl odds shorten from +450 to +400.
KC has made two of the last three Super Bowls (winning in 2020) and is currently second on the futures board, trailing the Buffalo Bills, who are ahead by a nose at +375.
With the Chiefs still capable of clinching that crucial No. 1 seed in the AFC here’s a breakdown of their Super Bowl 57 futures heading into Week 18.

We’re heading into the one-third mark of the NFL season, meaning we’re starting to get a reasonable sample of data about who (and what) every team is truly made of, what we can reasonably expect from players, and how to zone in on NFL player props.
Then, well, injuries happen — and everything you think you know about the NFL odds gets blown into Narnia so it’s back to the drawing board.
We’re not quite at that spot as we look through the Week 6 odds, but I’ve got nearly a full fantasy lineup of NFL picks this week!
Read on to see how I’m betting a quarterback who finally has his favorite target back, two running backs getting injury-related boosts, a wide receiver who does better with a backup QB, a tight en…
It’s Week 18 and that might scare some bettors away from the NFL odds, but there are some massive TD prices out there for players who might get more run this weekend with teams resting plenty of key starters.
For the regular-season finale of NFL player props, I’m backing a second-string QB in poor passing conditions, getting a piece of the Giants’ passing attack vs. the generous Eagles, and betting on more routes from an emerging rookie indoors.
Here are my three best NFL picks for anytime touchdowns in Week 18. For more great NFL prop picks, check out Jared Hochman’s NFL Week 18 player props column.

Sam Darnold surprised everyone with a passing masterclass in Week 1 and will now take on his former team in the Minnesota Vikings’ home opener. Can he keep the ball rolling or will the San Francisco 49ers’ much more stout defense spoil his hot start?
We break down the matchup in our 49ers vs. Vikings predictions and free NFL picks below.
49ers vs Vikings prediction
My best betAaron Jones Over 2.5 receptions (-135 at BetMGM)
My analysisAaron Jones started the second chapter of his career with a strong showing last week, tallying 109 total yards and a touchdown en route to the Minnesota Vikings’ 28-6 win last week. This week, he hopes to put up another strong performance against a team that bounced him from the playoffs three …
